It was a very close election this year and I would like to announce that Jay Perin has been elected as the Member At Large section officer serving for the terms in 2012 and 2013. The Member At Large officer is a voting member of the sections executive committee and participates in running the section and planning its meetings. Congratulations Jay.

Scott G. Lever is currently a Mission Manager on the Mars Exploration Rovers (MER) project. He joined the Jet Propulsion Laboratory in 1984 as a member of the Voyager project team working with the Computer Command Subsystem group. Since Voyager and before MER, he has worked on other projects including Mars Observer, Topex/Poseidon, Cassini/Huygens, and Spitzer. Scott’s main responsibility is flight operations, and he works in ground software development and maintenance (command sequence simulation and flight rules). Scott received a presidential appointment to the United States Naval Academy in 1979, and holds a MSCS from Azusa Pacific University. With respect to a local connection, Scott grew up in Cincinnati and Dayton, and graduated from Kettering Fairmont East High School in 1979.
