ABOUT THE MEETING:
As new technologies enter every aspect of our lives, the number of patents has skyrocketed. As a result, patent litigation has become more common as the complexity of the technology has increased, and expert witnesses are an essential part of both plaintiff and defendant strategy. An effective expert must combine a firm theoretical understanding of the technology along with an ability to explain these concepts to clients, attorneys, and (if the case goes to trial) a jury with little if any technical background. Bob Morrow will cover the following in his presentation: Expert qualifications; educating the attorneys; investigating patent invalidity and/or infringement; preparing an expert report; and testifying at deposition and trial. Bob will spice up the droll portions of the presentation with lively anecdotes.

ABOUT THE PRESENTER:
Dr. Bob Morrow has extensive experience as an expert witness in Bluetooth and Wi-Fi systems. He has worked for plaintiffs and defendants in ten different patent infringement cases, and has written reports and testified at deposition and trial. Bob is a retired U.S. Air Force pilot and electrical engineering professor and has authored two books on wireless systems. He has a BSEE from the U.S. Air Force Academy, a MSEE from Stanford University, and a PhD in EE from Purdue University.
